Weather Update April 16 2026: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted that moderate rainfall may return to the states of Delhi, Punjab, Haryana and Uttarakhand because of western disturbances in the region. The Northeastern states of Meghalaya, Arunachal Pradesh, Tripura, Assam, Nagaland and Mizoram are likely to receive heavy to extremely heavy rainfall due to localized disruptions.
Odisha and West Bengal may also experience violent thunderstorms and heavy rainfall. Delhi, Noida, Ghaziabad, Gurugram, Greater Noida and Faridabad may witness moderate rainfall along with gusty winds, offering some relief from scorching heat.
Uttar Pradesh Weather Update
Vrindavan, Varanasi, Prayagraj, Meerut, Bareilly, Mathura, Aligarh, Saharanpur and Gorakhpur are likely to experience a surge in maximum temperatures.

Weather Update April 16 2026–Rajasthan Weather Update
Rising heat interacting with atmospheric disturbances and moisture are likely to result in in unstable weather conditions in the state of Rajasthan. Several regions in Barmer, Jaisalmer and Jodhpur are likely to experience maximum temperatures in the range of 42-45 degrees Celsius. Parts of western Rajasthan are also likely to experience similar weather conditions.
Uttarakhand, Jammu & Kashmir And Himachal Pradesh Weather Update
Tissa, Sarkaghat, Palampur, Baijnath, Chamba, Ghumarwin, Jogindernagar and Sundernagar along with Gurez, Uri, Sopore, Anantnag, Poonch, Rajouri and Kupwara may experience moderate rainfall in some places.
Madhya Pradesh Weather Update
Several parts in the state of Madhya Pradesh are likely to experience a surge in maximum temperatures by 2–4°C.
Chhattisgarh, Bihar, Maharashtra and Telangana are also likely to experience similar weather conditions.
