Delhi News: A comprehensive roadmap is likely to be prepared by the Delhi Government to regularize 1511 unauthorized colonies in the state to benefit more than a million households.
Under the PM-UDAY (Pradhan Mantri Unauthorised Colonies in Delhi Awas Adhikar Yojana) scheme, a fast-track mechanism would be followed to simplify documentation, reduce delays and encourage more residents to come forward and regularise their properties. However, several officials and experts have raised concerns about structural safety and the risks associated with unregulated construction practices in these areas.

The digital PM-UDAY portal would now help in prioritizing quicker and accurate verification of property records, digital submissions and improve coordination between departments.
At the heart of this process is the PM-UDAY portal, an online platform designed to manage applications, track progress and issue ownership slips. These slips serve as legal proof of ownership and are crucial for residents seeking property rights, bank loans or redevelopment approvals.
How to Access the PM-UDAY Portal and Apply?
Interested users need to visit the PM-UDAY portal through a web browser and register themselves using a valid mobile number, before verifying it with a one-time password (OTP).
After registration, applicants can log in to their accounts and begin filling out the application form. This form requires details such as property address, plot size, ownership history and supporting documents. These documents typically include identity proof, property-related papers and any existing agreements or electricity bills that establish possession.
The next step involves uploading scanned copies of the required documents. The portal accepts multiple formats. Once the application is submitted, a provisional certificate or slip can be generated. This slip acts as a temporary acknowledgment and is a critical document in the ownership process. Authorities then review the submission, and if everything is in order, the final ownership certificate is issued.
