Katihar Viral Video: Woman Dips Kheera in Unhygienic Green Colour, Health Concerns Rise Over Street Food Vendors, Railways React

A shocking Katihar viral video shows women coating cucumbers in unhygienic green color at Bihar railway station. Passengers furious, tag Railways & police amid rising food safety concerns. Who's accountable? Full story inside.

A shocking viral video from Katihar railway station in Bihar has sparked nationwide anger over street food safety. The clip, shared widely on X (formerly Twitter), shows a female vendor dipping fresh cucumbers, known locally as kheera, into a murky bucket of bright green dye right in front of unaware passengers, railway staff, and police.

The Disturbing Incident Unfolds

In the footage, the woman casually submerges cucumbers in what seems to be cheap, toxic food coloring mixed with water, likely unhygienic and contaminated. Hundreds of commuters visit these stalls daily for quick, affordable snacks. However, this bold act, happening in full view of railway employees and RPF personnel, raises alarming questions: Is this “green” poison entering passengers’ bloodstreams without any checks?

The video quickly went viral on social media. User @NCIBHQ and @RailwaySeva tagged top officials like @RailMinIndia, @AshwiniVaishnaw, @RPF_INDIA, @bihar_police, and @Drm_kir. “Passengers’ lives are being toyed with. Who’s responsible?” the post asks.

Surging Health Risks from Street Food Vendors

Such practices aren’t isolated. Artificial dyes like these often contain harmful chemicals that are linked to allergies, digestive issues, and long-term toxicity. At busy stations like Katihar, vulnerable travelers, such as kids, the elderly, and daily commuters, face real dangers. Health experts warn that eating contaminated produce can lead to food poisoning or worse.

Railways and Police Under Fire: What’s Next?

Railways has not responded officially yet, but public pressure is increasing. Will inspections become more frequent? Will vendor licensing become stricter? This scandal highlights ongoing issues with public hygiene at India’s railway hubs.
