Ranbir Kapoor is leaving no stone unturned to build excitement around Ramayana, one of the biggest Indian films currently in production. The upcoming epic has already become one of the most talked-about projects in the industry, and now a new behind-the-scenes conversation between Ranbir Kapoor and director Nitesh Tiwari has caught fans’ attention online.
On Nitesh Tiwari’s birthday, producer Namit Malhotra shared a special promotional video featuring the actor and filmmaker discussing the massive responsibility of bringing Ramayana to the big screen. In the clip, Ranbir Kapoor asks the director about his first reaction when he was offered the chance to direct the film.
Ranbir Kapoor Asks Nitesh Tiwari About Ramayana
During the interaction, Ranbir Kapoor asked Nitesh Tiwari, “So, Nitesh sir, as a director when you imagined this world…you know, when Namit offered you to direct, the Ramayana, what were your thoughts?”
The filmmaker answered honestly and admitted that the experience felt overwhelming in many ways. He said, “Intimidating, challenging, inspiring all at the same time. Intimidating because, you know, telling a great story like Ramayana comes with a lot of moral responsibility. You have to just tell it in the right way possible.”
Ranbir Kapoor then added, “With the right intention,” to which Nitesh agreed. The director further explained, “With the right intentions, of course, you know. Inspiring because the kind of world which was presented to me was so mind-blowing. There was never an ounce of doubt in my mind that we will not be able to achieve this.”
The filmmaker also praised the support he received from Namit Malhotra and the DNEG team. He shared that the scale and vision of the project convinced him to take up the challenge immediately.
Nitesh Tiwari Calls The Journey ‘Fantastic’
Nitesh Tiwari revealed that the journey of creating Ramayana started nearly six years ago. According to him, the experience has been one of the most rewarding phases of his career.
He said, “So, there was a great story like Ramayana and with the backing and the support of a name like Namit Malhotra and Dne, you would just grab it with both your hands. So that’s how the journey started. I think it was around six years back. I can say that it’s been a fantastic ride. I don’t think I could have taken a better decision.”
Producer Namit Malhotra also shared a heartfelt birthday message for Nitesh Tiwari while posting the video online. He praised the filmmaker’s calm nature, storytelling ability, and dedication towards the ambitious project.
In his note, Namit wrote, “Dear Nitesh SIR, as everyone refers to you. Here’s wishing you a very happy birthday and the best year ahead in every way.”
He further added, “We have come on this journey that’s hard to describe in words. Working with you so closely has been one of the best experiences of my life.”
