The Uttar Pradesh government has announced a major expansion and modernization plan for SRN Hospital aimed at improving healthcare infrastructure and providing advanced treatment facilities to patients within the region.
According to officials, the hospital is being strengthened with advanced critical care services, trauma care infrastructure, and super-speciality medical facilities under the leadership of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.
CM Yogi Adityanath: Hospital Capacity to Expand to 2,000 Beds
At present, SRN Hospital has a capacity of 1,545 beds. The state government plans to increase this to 2,000 beds through the construction of modern healthcare buildings and upgraded medical infrastructure.
The expansion project also includes the establishment of:
- A 100-bed advanced critical care unit
- A 100-bed apex trauma centre
- A separate 100-bed trauma facility
- Multi-level parking for more than 500 vehicles
Focus on Better Emergency and Specialized Care
Officials stated that the upgraded facilities are intended to improve emergency response services, trauma management, and access to specialized medical treatment for patients in Prayagraj and nearby districts.
The government said the initiative will help reduce the need for patients to travel to distant cities for treatment of serious illnesses and complex medical conditions.
Vision for Regional Healthcare Development
Authorities described the project as part of the broader effort to build a stronger healthcare system across Uttar Pradesh by ensuring quality medical services are available closer to people’s homes.
The administration said advanced healthcare infrastructure, modern technology, and expanded treatment capacity are expected to benefit lakhs of citizens in the region.
