Punjab Police continued its anti-drug campaign, ‘Yudh Nashian Virudh’, across the state, leading to the arrest of 58 alleged drug smugglers on Day 454 of the operation.
According to Punjab Police, coordinated raids were conducted at multiple locations as part of the ongoing crackdown on narcotics networks.
Bhagwant Mann: Drugs and Drug Money Recovered
During the operation, police recovered:
- 366 grams of heroin
- 105 kg of poppy husk
- 1,855 intoxicant tablets and capsules
- ₹29,200 in suspected drug money
Officials stated that the recoveries were made during enforcement actions carried out in different parts of Punjab.
De-Addiction and Rehabilitation Efforts Continue
Apart from enforcement measures, Punjab Police said that 10 individuals were counselled and encouraged to undergo de-addiction and rehabilitation treatment as part of the state’s broader strategy to address substance abuse.
Total Arrests Reach 65,775
Police data released under the campaign indicated that a total of 65,775 alleged drug smugglers have been arrested since the launch of the ‘Yudh Nashian Virudh’ initiative.
The anti-drug campaign remains a key focus area for the Punjab government led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, with authorities continuing enforcement, awareness, and rehabilitation efforts across the state.
Focus on Drug-Free Punjab
Punjab Police reiterated its commitment to combating drug trafficking, dismantling narcotics networks, and promoting rehabilitation measures aimed at creating a safer and drug-free Punjab.
