Bhagwant Mann has continued its ongoing campaign against organized crime under the initiative titled “Gangstran Te Vaar,” carrying out large-scale operations across the state to target gangster networks and criminal elements.
Bhagwant Mann Conducts 499 Raids in Statewide Anti-Gangster Crackdown
According to official information, police teams, in coordination with the Anti-Gangster Task Force (AGTF), conducted 499 raids at identified locations across Punjab as part of Day 133 of the campaign. The operations resulted in the arrest of 221 individuals, including three proclaimed offenders who were wanted in various cases.
During the raids, law enforcement agencies also recovered two weapons. The action forms part of Punjab Police’s broader strategy to dismantle gangster networks, curb criminal activities, and strengthen public safety across the state.
Officials stated that intelligence-based operations
Officials stated that intelligence-based operations and coordinated enforcement measures are being carried out regularly to monitor and disrupt organized crime. The police department has emphasized a policy of zero tolerance toward gangsterism and criminal activities.
With the latest action, the total number of arrests made since the launch of the anti-gangster campaign has reached 33,340, according to Punjab Police data.
The department reiterated its commitment to maintaining law and order and ensuring a safer environment for citizens. Authorities have also encouraged the public to share information related to criminal activities through the Anti-Gangster Helpline, assuring confidentiality for those providing information.
Punjab Police said the campaign will continue with sustained enforcement actions aimed at weakening criminal networks and enhancing security throughout the state.
