Uttarakhand SIR News: Uttarakhand to Begin Special Intensive Revision of Voter List from June 8

Uttarakhand SIR News: The Election Department in Uttarakhand will begin the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls from June 8, 2026, as part of an exercise to update and verify voter records across the state.

According to Additional Chief Electoral Officer Dr. Vijay Kumar Jogdande, the revision process has already commenced administratively, with training of Booth Level Officers (BLOs) and printing of enumeration forms completed in all assembly constituencies.

Under the programme, BLOs will conduct door-to-door visits between June 8 and July 7, 2026, to distribute and collect enumeration forms from voters. Officials said that if a voter is unavailable during a visit, BLOs will make up to three attempts to contact the individual at their residence.

Election authorities stated that approximately 7.96 million voters

The revision will be carried out with July 1, 2026, as the qualifying date. During the month-long exercise, collected forms will be digitized and uploaded through the designated election management application.

Election authorities stated that approximately 7.96 million voters across Uttarakhand will be covered under the exercise. Voters will also have the option to download, fill, and upload their enumeration forms independently through the ECI Net application.

The draft electoral roll is scheduled to be published on July 14, 2026. Following its publication, claims and objections can be submitted between July 14 and August 13. Officials said notices related to claims and objections will be issued and resolved between July 14 and September 11.

The final electoral roll is expected to be published on September 15, 2026, after completion of the verification and grievance redressal process.

Authorities have also informed that eligible citizens whose names are not currently included in the voter list can submit Form 6 through their respective BLOs for consideration during the revision process. The Election Department has urged voters to cooperate with BLOs and ensure their electoral information remains accurate and up to date.
