Following the incident, Goyal reportedly informed police that Agrawal had accidentally slipped while taking photographs near the edge of the fort amid strong winds. Based on the initial account, authorities registered a case of accidental death and began routine inquiries.
However, during the course of the investigation, police allegedly uncovered evidence suggesting that the incident may not have been accidental. Investigators now suspect that Agrawal was deliberately pushed into the gorge as part of a planned conspiracy.
Subsequent inquiries led to the arrest of Goyal and a man alleged to be her lover. Police believe the duo may have conspired to eliminate Agrawal and staged the incident as an accident. The case has attracted significant attention due to the circumstances surrounding the incident and the allegations of betrayal involving individuals close to the victim.
