UP CM Yogi Adityanath Strengthens Digital Education: Over 32,400 Schools Upgraded as ‘NIPUN Vidyalayas’

Officials say the initiative is designed to improve the integration of technology into everyday learning and make education more engaging for students.

The Uttar Pradesh government has highlighted its ongoing efforts to transform the state’s education system through improved infrastructure, digital learning, and teacher training under the leadership of CM Yogi Adityanath. The initiatives aim to make government schools more technology-driven while enhancing the quality of education for students across urban and rural areas.

According to the government, more than 32,400 council schools have been developed as ‘NIPUN Vidyalayas’, while millions of teachers have undergone training to strengthen classroom teaching and adopt innovative learning methods. The programme focuses on improving foundational literacy and numeracy, ensuring students receive quality education from the early years of schooling.

To accelerate digital education, 31,878 schools have been equipped with smart classrooms, 14,988 schools have received ICT laboratories, and 1,129 schools now have digital libraries. These facilities are intended to create interactive learning environments, provide access to digital educational resources, and help bridge the technology gap in government schools.

The state government has also distributed 2,61,530 tablets to teachers in primary and upper primary schools to support digital teaching, lesson planning, and classroom management. Officials say the initiative is designed to improve the integration of technology into everyday learning and make education more engaging for students.

Highlighting learning outcomes, the government said Uttar Pradesh performed above the national average in language and mathematics at the Class 3 level, according to the ASER Report and the PARAKH National Survey 2024. The state said these results reflect the impact of sustained investments in school infrastructure, teacher training, and foundational education reforms.

The government has reiterated its commitment to expanding access to quality education, strengthening digital infrastructure, and ensuring that students across the state are equipped with the knowledge and skills needed for future academic and professional opportunities.
