PM Narendra Modi urged young graduates to remain curious, question established ideas and develop the courage to find solutions to difficult problems while addressing IIT Delhi’s 57th Convocation on Saturday.

More than 3,000 students and 587 PhD scholars attended the convocation. Modi told the graduating students that continuous learning and curiosity would remain crucial in a rapidly changing world shaped by advances in technology, industries and global dynamics.
PM Modi Message to Gen-Z
Modi encouraged students not to accept everything at face value. He asked them to question ideas, examine what is taken for granted and, most importantly, have the determination to find answers.
He also advised graduates not to be intimidated by major challenges. Instead, he suggested breaking complex problems into smaller parts and working systematically towards solutions.
According to Modi, the ability to keep learning will remain one of the most valuable skills as the world continues to change.
Focus on Research, Startups and Innovation
The Prime Minister highlighted the contribution of young Indians to the country’s growing startup ecosystem and pointed to IIT Delhi’s alumni and founders as examples of the potential of India’s youth.
He also encouraged students to explore opportunities in research and innovation, including through initiatives such as the Prime Minister’s Research Fellowship.
‘From Chips to Ships’
Speaking about India’s technological ambitions, Modi referred to the country’s semiconductor push and said that difficult challenges can be overcome when they are approached with determination.
He expressed confidence that India’s young generation would contribute to building capabilities across sectors, using the phrase “from chips to ships” to underline the country’s manufacturing and technology aspirations.
