The International Cricket Council (ICC) announced the full schedule on 1 October 2026, and cricket fans have plenty to look forward to. India, Australia and Pakistan share Group A, and yes, an India vs Pakistan clash is firmly on the cards.
Who Is in Group A?
Group A includes India, Australia, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Zimbabwe and Qualifier A, while Group B has New Zealand, South Africa, Sri Lanka, England, Bangladesh and Qualifier B. The qualifier tournament is scheduled for 22 February to 23 March 2027.

12 Venues Across Three Countries
On 30 July 2026, the ICC confirmed twelve venues, with eight in South Africa, three in Zimbabwe and one in Namibia. This makes it the first World Cup spread over three African nations.
India vs Pakistan Date and Venue
India open against Australia on 7 October in Cape Town, then play Pakistan three days later at the Wanderers in Johannesburg. The rivals could meet again soon after. The schedule lists A1 (India) v A3 (Pakistan) in Cape Town on 7 November.
India vs Australia Rematch
The tournament’s first group game is a repeat of the 2023 Final, with defending champions Australia taking on India in Cape Town. The two sides are also pencilled in for 28 October at Victoria Falls.

What Fans Should Know
