According to him, these initiatives aim to improve safety for women at home, on roads, in educational institutions and at workplaces.

Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath has said that the state government’s zero-tolerance policy towards crime has helped establish the rule of law and create a safer environment for women over the past nine and a half years. In a post on X on the occasion of Maha Saptami, Adityanath invoked Maa Kalaratri and highlighted initiatives such as Mission Shakti, the integrated 1090 helpline, women beat policing and the Safe City project to underline the government’s focus on women’s security and empowerment.

CM Yogi Adityanath Highlights Zero-Tolerance Policy Against Crime

Adityanath contrasted the current situation with the period before 2017, describing the earlier environment as one marked by fear and disorder caused by mafias, rioters and criminals. He said the government’s zero-tolerance approach had helped curb criminal activities and strengthen law and order in the state.

The Chief Minister said creating a fear-free environment was essential to ensuring that women could access education, employment and opportunities for self-reliance.

Mission Shakti and Women’s Safety Initiatives

Highlighting the government’s women’s safety measures, Adityanath cited Mission Shakti, the integrated 1090 helpline, women beat policing and the Safe City project. According to him, these initiatives aim to improve safety for women at home, on roads, in educational institutions and at workplaces.

He also cited a reduction in police response time from 65 minutes in 2016 to five minutes, presenting it as evidence of improved responsiveness and the government’s focus on public safety.

Women’s Workforce Participation Rises, Says CM

Adityanath said women’s labour force participation in Uttar Pradesh had increased from 12 per cent to more than 36 per cent. He linked the rise to a greater sense of security and expanding opportunities for women across different sectors.
