Immigration Plans Gone Awry? Gatherings Banned, Curfew Imposed, Donald Trump Blames Macron For Turning Paris Into Muslim City

US President Donald Trump blamed French President Emmanuel Macron’s immigration policies for the unrest in France.

France Protests: US President Donald Trump has pointed to France’s immigration policies as the cause of the unrest in France. He said that Paris is on the way to becoming a “Muslim city” and said that President Emmanuel Macron should have sealed off the borders at an earlier date.

What Trump Said?

“Other than the sickening spectacle of watching your country invaded by scores of low iq angry migrants who keep your country dangerous and unfriendly, here’s the most disappointing thing about watching Macron a dumbass, even he agreed to this a long time ago,” Trump said, speaking to reporters outside the White House. Trump added that ‘Paris is going to be a Muslim city very soon’ and that ‘this wasn’t the deal’ telling Macron to ‘close up your borders.’ He continued: ‘If they had to do it again, they would do it faster and they would do it sooner.’

Why Is France Facing Unrest?

France has been roiled by protests and violence for the past several days, which included public buildings set on fire and stores looted, as well as dozens of arrests. Trump said the unrest was evidence that Europe has to tighten up its borders. The argument that Muslim immigrants were to blame for the protests was later deemed false by critics. The protests were also associated with anti-government protests and poor school conditions.

Meetings Prohibited, Curfew Ongoing

In order to keep a lid on things, demonstrations were prohibited in parts of the city from 8 pm on Monday by police in Paris. A curfew was announced around Place de la Republique and Les Halles from 11 pm until 6 am on Tuesday. This order was issued as officials sought to thwart more violence and contain the unrest in the French capital.

Trump’s Warning To Europe

Trump said Europe would be “finished” if it did not tighten immigration rules and secure its borders. He repeated that he had advised Macron to act when he first took office in 2017.His remarks have sparked strong reactions because they link religious identity and immigration to the protests, a claim that many reports describe as misleading and divisive.
