2021 Maruti Suzuki Celerio launched at Rs 4.99 lakh

The new Maruti Suzuki Celerio has been officially launched in the country. Celerio has always been a popular model from Maruti Suzuki and an upgrade is likely to come as a shot in the arm, especially because of the preference for affordable personal mobility options in Covid-19 times.

Maruti Suzuki has launched the all-new Celerio in India at Rs 4.99 lakh (ex-showroom). Ahead of this we had plenty of hints about the car in the form of teasers released by the company as well as spy shots of the car during its tests.

In terms of exteriors, the car gets a completely overhauled front fascia that includes a new grille with a chrome bar running across its length. It gets a new pair of back-swept headlamps with LED, a new bumper and flared wheel arches that make the car’s stance very different from before. On the inside, the car gets plenty of changes that come in the form of an all-black interior theme, faux aluminium accents across the cabin, vertically placed AC vents among others.

Safety suite includes 12 key features including dual airbags, hill hold assist and reverse sensors.

In its new avatar, the car will also come with a new touchscreen infotainment system, push-button for start/stop, auto engine start/stop, steering wheel with multifunction buttons and more.

Celerio will also be powered by a 1 litre 3-cylinder K10 engine. The all-new Maruti Suzuki hatchback offers a mileage of 26.68 km/l. The front fascia sports an all-new radiant grill with sharp chrome accents combined with an aggressive headlamp that gives it a signature look, as per the company’s official statement.

Maruti Suzuki had introduced the Celerio in the Indian market at 2014 Auto Expo, and thr hatchback has cumulatively sold over 5.9 lakh units thus far.

The new Maruti Suzuki Celerio rivals the likes of the Hyundai Santro, Tata Tiago and Datsun Go in India.
