Ather 450x: Since its launch in Jan 2020, Ather 450x has proved to be a runaway success for the company due to its performance and features. Be it range, acceleration & driving dynamics or the next gen telematics features, 450x is the perfect city commuting electric scooter for people who want to get rid of the ever rising fuel prices.

Priced at 1.55 lacks ex-showroom, the Ather 450x packs a 3.7kWh IP67 certified Li-Ion battery pack that is capable of delivering a real world range of 105 km per charge, though the certified range stands at 146 km per charge. On the performance front, the scooter is capable of reaching a speed of 40 km/h in just 3.3 seconds. It also has a top speed of 80-90Km/hr. The flagship scooter of Ather electric comes with several first in segment features like LED headlights and taillights, 22L boot storage, allow wheels and tubeless tyres etc.

Ather 450x Features

The electric scooter features 5 driving modes, i.e. Warp, sport, ride, eco and smart eco. The warp mode is where the rider can experience the 0-40Km/h acceleration in 3.3 seconds and reach the top speed of 80Km/h. Ather has also provided a reverse assist mode which assists the rider while reversing by providing a small amount of torque to the wheel. This is helpful mostly in inclines.

Ather 450x - More than just a scooter

The 450x is not just a scooter; it is more of a drivable computer that also has a touchscreen for various driver interactions. The 7inch TFT touch screen comes with a snapdragon 212 quad-core processor with 16GB of storage and 2GB of RAM. The touch screen can be configured according to the rider and has several features like GPS based navigation and Bluetooth music streaming capabilities. The system has in-built 4G LTE and GPS support that powers the scooter’s connected and telematics features. The vehicle can be controlled remotely form anywhere in the world through the Ather mobile app. The owner can even turn on & off the scooter through the app.

There are two types of charging options for the 450x. Ather provides a home charging solution that can charge the 450x from 0 to 80% in 4hr 30min and 0 to 100% in 5hr 40min. The second option is the ever expanding charging network known as Ather grid. The owners can fast charge the 450x at any Ather grid network charger and get a 15km range in just 10min.

Price and other important things to know

Ather provides a 3years/30,000km warranty on the scooter and a 3 years/unlimited km warranty on the battery pack of the scooter. The 1.55 lacks ex-showroom price tag of the 450x includes the ather dot/portable charger and a performance upgrade consisting of wrap mode and Bluetooth function. The price is also inclusive of the FAME 2 government subsidy of Rs 55,500.
