Mahindra XUV500 2023: With newly upgraded safety features and mHawk155 Diesel Engine and a 6th Generation eVGT, this SUV can disrupt the market

Mahindra XUV500 2023: The well-liked XUV500 SUV from Mahindra is a massive seven-seater with a monocoque body. It has the right look and feel, and Mahindra’s ongoing updates have made driving it even more fun. The XUV500 is available with all-wheel drive as an option on its diesel variant and is available in petrol-auto, diesel-manual, and diesel-auto combinations.

Advanced exterior

The Mahindra XUV500 is 4585 mm long, 1890 mm wide, and 1785 mm tall with a wheelbase of 2700 mm. The front of the SUV has a new toothed grille, and there are horizontal LED DRLs above the headlamps. Although the fog lamp design is similar to that of its predecessor, it now has chrome Inserts for a more upscale appearance. The SUV has black plastic side skirting and integrated turning winkers on the outside rear vision mirrors. The tail lamp design has been changed significantly, it is smaller and the tail-lamps are splitted into clusters.

Mahindra XUV500 2023: Cabin comfort and interior

With accommodation for seven people, the Mahindra XUV500 is spacious. The seats come in luxury fabric, leather, or jacquard depending on the version. The soft-touch synthetic leather dashboard of the XUV500 boasts delicate stitching along the console and door trim. The previous model’s steering wheel, instrument panel, and air conditioning controls are fully there and functional. A 6-way power-adjustable seat and an anti-pinch electric sunroof are also included. It has an adjustable lumbar support and a 7-inch touchscreen for the perfect driving position.

Engine and powertrain

The mHawk155 Diesel Engine, a 6th Generation eVGT, powers the Mahindra XUV500. The 2.2-liter diesel engine in the BS6 SUV generates 360 Nm of torque and 155 horsepower. Both a 6-Speed automatic transmission and a 6-Speed synchromesh are included with the gearbox. Moreover, the engine has a Dual Mass Flywheel for a smoother gear shift. The new XUV500 petrol model features a 140hp, 2.2-litre petrol engine connected to a 6-speed automatic transmission.

Mahindra XUV500 2023: Safety features

The Mahindra XUV500 has disc brakes on all four wheels as well as an Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS) with electronic brake force distribution as standard equipment for added safety (EBD). The SUV has automatic headlights, hill assist, child sensing wipers, child sensing lock, braking assist, and other safety features.
