Mercedes launches AMG E 63S, E 53 in India

Mercedes-Benz India has launched the facelifted Mercedes-AMG E-Class line-up (based on the standard wheelbase model) just months after introducing the facelift for the W213 series E-Class long-wheelbase model.

The all-new Mercedes-AMG E 53 is priced at Rs 1.02 crore, while the range-topping Mercedes-AMG E 63 S is priced at Rs 1.70 crore (all prices, ex-showroom).

Service packages for the two Mercedes-AMG sedans start at Rs 1.19 lakh for the E 53 and Rs 1.35 lakh for the E 63 S, for coverage over a period of two years.

The BMW M5 Competition, priced at Rs 1.62 crore, the Audi RS7 Sportback, priced at Rs 1.94 crore, and the Porsche Panamera GTS, priced at Rs 1.86 crore, are all competitors for the Mercedes-AMG E 63S in 2021. In the Indian market, the Mercedes-AMG E 53 2021 has no true direct competitors.

Exterior:

The top-spec Mercedes-AMG E 63 S has a sloping roofline, an AMG-specific radiator grille with 12 vertical slats, a muscular bonnet, a wide air vent, and sleek headlamps.

On the sides, the car is flanked by indicator-mounted ORVMs, blacked-out B-pillars, and 20-inch alloy wheels.
A reshaped apron, flatter brake lights, a new diffuser, and squared-off exhaust tips are available on the rear end.

Interior:

Mercedes-AMG E 63 S has a premium cabin with AMG front seats, aluminium paddle shifters, auto climate control, and an AMG Performance steering wheel with haptic feedback controls. A ‘hands-on’ sensor that detects the driver’s presence is also available.

It packs a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, a 12.3-inch MBUX infotainment panel with bespoke AMG display options, multiple airbags, and a 360-degree-view parking camera.

Additional features:

The AMG E 63S gets the AMG Performance 4MATIC+ all-wheel drive as standard that provides it with torque distribution on the front and rear axles and ensures optimum traction on any surface. Drift Mode can be activated for a pure rear-wheel drive experience.

The E 63S sporty model gets up to six drive programs – Slippery, Comfort, Sport, Sport+, Individual and RACE, while the E 53 comes with five drive programs – Slippery, Comfort, Sport, Sport+, Individual.
