Noida News: Noida police have planned to adopt a stricter stance for the drivers involved in traffic violations in Noida and Greater Noida. Noida Police has recently issued an advisory for the public to remain cautious of the challan issued to them. It also said that the Noida Police will nullify the driving license of the drivers if they are issued 3 challans on account of breaking traffic rules in the city. Check out more details below.
This action comes into implementation due to the increasing cases of traffic violations in Noida especially in Gautam Budhh Nagar. These traffic violations include incidents such as crossing signals, not wearing helmets, overspeeding, driving on the wrong side and others. While getting stricter for people violating traffic rules, Noida Police is also utilizing an Integrated Traffic Management System that allows them to easily identify people breaking traffic rules with a high-definition camera.
The authorities have declared that drivers who will be issued more than 3 traffic challans due to traffic rule violations will get their Driving license nullified by the authorities. The police also said in a statement that “In line with instructions given by the Supreme Court Committee on Road Safety and as per the decision taken in the meeting of Uttar Pradesh Road Safety Council, action will be taken to cancel the licence of a person who gets more than three challans in a row for offences like red light jumping, over speed, overloading, carrying passengers in goods vehicles, use of mobile phone while driving, or drunken driving,". Authorities also added that repeat offenders will also get their vehicle registrations cancelled.
The decision comes after the responsible authorities issued more than 14 lakh challans for traffic violations by September this year. The majority of these challans were issued on account of overspeeding vehicles and using mobile phones while driving the vehicle.
