Okinawa

Okinawa: The joint venture between Okinawa Autotech and the Italian producer of electric two-wheelers Tacita is developing an electric cruiser motorcycle for India. Okinawa also opened a new research and development facility in Italy and announced a 25 million euro investment over the following three years.

Okinawa and Tacita

The Tactica team will collaborate with the Okinawa local technical staff based in India at the new R&D facility. The centre will eventually hire close to 50 technicians from India and other countries. These workers will participate in an employee exchange programme between Okinawa and Tacita and get domestic and international training.

Both businesses will focus on creating new Okinawa products at the new facility, as well as improving current items and creating a new EV platform for upcoming products like the abovementioned cruiser. We believe Tacita currently has two of these e-bikes in its international range, so the brands won't need to create this cruiser from start. These vehicles, dubbed T-Cruise Turismo and T-Cruise Urban, have a five-speed gearbox with differing amounts of power and torque output.
