Reviving the Legend! Hero MotoCorp set to launch new-gen Karizma and other premium motorcycles soon, all you need to know

Karizma XMR: Hero MotoCorp is about to step up its game in the market for high-end motorcycles. They are working on releasing a number of new bikes in the 200cc to 450cc segment. There will be all-new adventure bikes, roadsters, and completely faired motorcycles.

A New Generation Motorcycle

It’s likely that one of them is a new-generation Karizma. Yes, Hero is about to bring back their well-known name. Karizma was Hero’s best motorbike for many years before it was taken off the market. Hero tried many times over the years to bring back the Karizma name, but it never lived up to expectations. The EBR (Erik Buell Racing) update for the 2014 Karizma was the iceberg that sank Hero’s Titanic all by itself.

From the beginning, Karizma has always been sold as a pair. The semi-faired Karizma has marginally less power than the fully faired Karizma ZMR. The same plan is likely to be used this time as well. Hero has registered the names Karizma XMR and Karizma XMR 210 as trademarks.

The same 200cc oil-cooled engine as the Xtreme 200S

To compete with Pulsar 220F, Karizma XMR could be the less powerful one with a bikini shell. It could even have the same 200cc oil-cooled engine as the Xtreme 200S, which is going away. While the Karizma XMR 210 could be the fully covered model with a 210cc engine and 6-speed transmission to compete with the Pulsar RS 200.

Based on the current Karizma test mule that was seen, it looks like it was designed after the Xtreme 200S. At a closer look, the hood looks almost the same, but it has more style. We can tell it’s different from the Xtreme 200S because it has LED turn signals with warning lights and ORVMs on the fairing instead of the handlebars.

Price of Karizma XMR

Since pricing was one of Karizma’s best features, we don’t think it will be able to handle any fancy tools that would drive up costs. From the spy photos, it is clear that the 2023 Hero Karizma does not have USD front forks. There could be LED lights and Bluetooth communication with navigation.

Hero’s bikes tend to be on the cheaper side, so we think the Hero Karizma XMR will be priced between the Yamaha YZF R15 and the KTM RC200. So, it could be for sale for around Rs. 2 lakh (ex-showroom).
