Toyota Hyryder: Toyota Hyryder Strong Hybrid will cost less than Maruti Grand Vitara Hybrid

Toyota Hyryder: The Maruti Grand Vitara has opened new doors in India. This is the Toyota Hyryder with Suzuki badging. The same mild-hybrid and strong-hybrid powertrain will be installed in these small SUVs from Maruti and Toyota. It appears that the Toyota SUV will be more inexpensive than the Maruti Grand Vitara with a stronger hybrid drivetrain, despite the many obstacles (in terms of performance and amenities).

In terms of the shared models, the feature list for these cars is essentially the same for each variant. The Hyryder and Grand Vitara from Toyota and Maruti, which will be released in four variations, will likewise exhibit comparable characteristics.

While Maruti has employed the Nexa lineup badges Sigma, Zeta, Delta, and Alpha in the Grand Vitara, the Toyota Hyryder will be offered in E, S, G, and V. The “+” suffix (Zeta+ and Alpha+) has been used to distinguish the hybrid versions of the Vitara.

The capable hybrid drivetrain will debut in the entry-level S edition of Toyota’s forthcoming compact SUV. At the same time, Grand Vitara’s Zeta+ model from top to bottom will offer the stronger hybrid alternative. The powerful hybrid form of the rider will have a lower starting price than the Grand Vitara in this case.

Over the G variant and Grand Vitara’s Zeta+ variations, the Toyota Hyryder S Strong Hybrid receives automatic LED projector headlights, rear washers and wipers, (front) side and curtain airbags, a panoramic sunroof, a 360-degree camera, and a 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system. System-like properties are absent. The 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, cruise control, auto air conditioning, and a rear parking camera are features that it will undoubtedly include.

The ability of self-charging hybrid technology to provide good performance and mileage is its most notable attribute. With the 1.5-liter 3-cylinder petrol engine in both of these automobiles, self-charging hybrid technology is available. This gasoline engine generates 116 PS and 141 Nm of output when coupled with the electric motor. This engine comes with a gearless transmission called an E-CVT. This engine has a higher power output (102 PS/135 Nm) than the mild hybrid 1.5-liter engine. Its mild hybrid powertrain has the least power output among compact SUVs.

According to Maruti, the Grand Vitara strong hybrid would get 27.97 kilometres per gallon, which is 7 kilometres per gallon better than the mild hybrid model with an automatic transmission. The Toyota Hyryder strong-hybrid version will also get similar mpg. One can anticipate a mileage of roughly 30 kmpl in traffic because strong-hybrid vehicles have the ability to go short distances on pure electric power in urban environments.

By the second quarter of August, the Toyota Hyryder might be introduced in India, but the Maruti Grand Vitara could debut in the first week of September. Both of these SUVs are expected to cost a minimum of Rs. 9.5 lakh (ex-showroom). It will face off against the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Skoda Kushak, Nissan Kicks, MG Aster, and Volkswagen Tigon in the class.
