Toyota Innova Electric: Is an electric variant in the works? Check out this spied test vehicle

Toyota Innova electric: Nearly every manufacturer now has an electric vehicle in their lineup due to the growing EV fever around the world. Recently, an electric car was seen being tested on the highways by the Japanese multinational carmaker Toyota Motor Corporation, which still does not offer an EV. The car used for testing was none other than the electrified Innova Crysta, a very well-liked MPV from Toyota.

Test mule spied

On Indonesian streets, a completely unmasked electric Innova Crysta was spotted. It should be mentioned that the world has seen this very car before. The Japanese automaker debuted the same electrified Innova Crysta in March at the Indonesian International Motor Show. Toyota stated at the time that this car would solely be used for research.

All about the Toyota Innova electric

We don’t yet know any specifics about this vehicle’s specs. However, it is widely assumed that Toyota may be using this test mule to evaluate batteries, electric motors, and other critical EV technology. Regarding this particular vehicle, we can see from the spy photos that, with a few exceptions, it inherits practically everything from the ordinary Innova Crysta. This new EV Innova’s noticeable blanked-out grille and a redesigned bumper are the main exterior differences. The wheel style itself also differs from the alloy wheel design used on the Crysta.

It should also be noted that the Innova EV’s cabin appears to be quite similar to the ICE Innova’s from the images that have surfaced online. An analogue instrument cluster, in addition to the infotainment system that displays crucial information like range and battery life, was one of the features of the electric MPV. On the Innova EV, there weren’t many differences found aside from these.

It’s still unclear whether this Innova will be powered by a battery when it hits the roads. The battery packs, electric motors, range, price, or launch date of this vehicle are all unknown as of yet. We can only wait to see what the Japanese carmaker has in store for this electric Innova at this time.
