Xiaomi Modena EV: As per a report by CarScoops, Xiaomi is expected to reveal its first electric car by the end of this year. The vehicle has been approved for the production last month. We got the first leaked glimpse of the vehicle in January this year, its around two years after the company announced its plans to produce an EV.
The company has codenamed the EV as MS11, but the vehicle is called Xiaomi Modena by the local media of China. According to Car News China, the trial production of the EV has already started at a factory based in Beijing and the company's facility is producing its 50 prototypes each week. The company is said to be on schedule to get clearance from China's Ministry of Information Technology in the coming months. After approval, Xiaomi will start selling this EV.
After the launch, the Modena EV will compete with its rivals like Tesla Model 3 and BYD Seal, Modena is expected start with the local price tag of Rs. 200000 Yuan (nearly $27400). Taking a clue from the leaked images, it seems that the vehicle has large LED headlights and a classy front bumper, the vehicle is also expected to get a flush door handles and a roof mounted LIDAR and a panaromic glass roof which looks identical to the Tesla Model 3.
As far as the power is concerned, the vehicle is expected to come with a huge 101 kWh ternary battery pack with an 800 Volt electrical architecture. The vehicle is expected to travel upto 800 Km on a solitary charge. It comes with a self developed electric motor while the batteries are provided by BYD and CATL.
