A fresh debate over the use of E20 petrol has emerged after Aam Aadmi Party leader Anurag Dhanda questioned the fuel’s impact on vehicle performance and claimed that many motorists are experiencing reduced pickup.
E20 Fuel Sparks Fresh Debate as Anurag Dhanda Raises Concerns
In a post on social media, Dhanda alleged that several vehicle owners have complained about a drop in performance after using E20 fuel. He further claimed that despite growing concerns, the central government is not paying adequate attention to the issues being raised by the public.
Adding to the discussion, social media user Pulkit Nagar argued that while there may not be widespread reports of vehicles being damaged due to E20 petrol, many motorists are dissatisfied with its performance. He claimed that if consumers were given the option to choose between E10 petrol and E20 petrol, or pure petrol where available, many would prefer alternatives to E20.
The comments have reignited discussions about ethanol-blended fuels
The comments have reignited discussions about ethanol-blended fuels and their impact on vehicles. The Government of India has been promoting E20 petrol as part of its strategy to reduce crude oil imports, lower carbon emissions, and support domestic ethanol production.
Automobile manufacturers have stated that newer vehicles designed to be E20-compatible can safely use the fuel, while owners of older vehicles are advised to follow the fuel recommendations provided by their manufacturers.
The claims made by Anurag Dhanda and other social media users reflect public concerns circulating online. However, these statements represent their opinions and have not been independently verified. Vehicle owners are encouraged to refer to their manufacturer’s guidelines before using ethanol-blended fuels.
