Fuel Efficiency, Running Costs, and Long-Term Ownership Value of the 2026 Renault Duster Explained, Check

Rinku Singh is set to rejoin Team India ahead of the must-win ICC T20 World Cup 2026 match against West Indies. Despite his father’s recent demise, BCCI has confirmed his availability for the crucial Super 8 fixture.

renault duster 2026:The new-generation Renault Duster returns with upgraded engines, hybrid technology, and better efficiency figures. Buyers looking for a practical SUV with controlled long-term expenses will find multiple powertrain choices suited for both city and highway use.

Fuel Efficiency

The 2026 Duster is offered with petrol, mild-hybrid, and upcoming strong-hybrid options.

The 1.3-litre turbo-petrol variant delivers around 6.5L/100km combined, making it suitable for daily mixed driving. The 1.2-litre mild-hybrid improves efficiency further at approximately 5.7L/100km, thanks to electric assistance during acceleration and stop-go traffic.

Entry-level 1.0-litre turbo-petrol versions focus on practicality and affordability. Producing around 100hp, they prioritise usability rather than peak economy.

The biggest highlight is the upcoming strong-hybrid variant. It uses a 1.8-litre petrol engine paired with a 1.4kWh battery. Real-world fuel economy is expected to exceed 20kmpl, with up to 80% city driving possible in EV mode. Fuel tank capacity between 50 and 55 litres ensures an extended range for highway users.

Running Costs

renault duster 2026: International pricing begins at around $31,990 for base 4×2 variants and goes up to $37,990 for 4×4 hybrid models. In India, expected ex-showroom prices may range between ₹12 lakh and ₹20 lakh.

Maintenance costs remain reasonable due to Renault’s proven petrol-hybrid setup. The absence of a diesel engine at launch simplifies servicing. However, some variants may require premium petrol, slightly increasing per-kilometre fuel expenses.

Efficient gearboxes like the 7-speed dual-clutch automatic and 6-speed manual help optimise fuel use. Regenerative braking in hybrid models also reduces wear on brake components.

Renault offers a 7-year/150,000km warranty, strengthening buyer confidence. A relatively low kerb weight starting from 1,411kg helps reduce mechanical strain over time.

Overall, the 2026 Duster stands out as a practical SUV investment with balanced efficiency and long-term reliability.
