Some dealers have reportedly begun taking bookings for the upcoming car informally even before it is officially released, according to rumours in the media. BYD Seal Design details

The BYD Seal’s design incorporates the company’s “Ocean Aesthetics” design language, with inspiration from the 2021 Ocean X concept.
A full-width LED light bar at the back, four boomerang-shaped LED daytime running lights, a split headlamp design, a coupe-like all-glass roof and flush-fitted door handles are just a few of the striking exterior characteristics.

BYD Seal powertrain details

With rear-wheel drive and an 82.5kWh battery pack, the Seal will be available in India and is expected to have a 570km range on the WLTP cycle. The rear axle-mounted permanent magnet synchronous motor has 230 horsepower and 360 Nm of torque. With this specification, BYD claims a 0-100kph time of 5.9 seconds for the 2,055kg vehicle.

High-speed charging up to 150kW is possible with this battery since it uses BYD’s unique blade technology.
While an 11kW AC charger takes 8.6 hours to fully charge, a 10-80% charge can be achieved in about 37 minutes.

Features onboard

The driver has a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster and a heads-up display in addition to the BYD Seal’s 15.6-inch rotating infotainment system located in the centre console. A scroll wheel to select the several drive modes and the drive selector are located beneath the floating touchscreen, which is positioned between the central AC vents. Additionally, the central console contains two wireless charging pads, the music system’s volume control, and basic settings for the heated windscreen.

Expected price in India

The estimated cost of the BYD Seal (ex-showroom) is Rs 50 lakh.
