Kia EV9: Korean Carmaker, Kia has recently confirmed that it will be launching Kia EV9 in India next year. While confirming the launch, the automaker also announced that the Kia EV9 will make its Indian debut with the new-gen Kia Carnival in 2024. The EV9 will be introduced as the first three-row electric car. It will be the second EV offering of the Korean car maker. The automaker claims that the Kia EV9 will achieve around 15 per cent of the EV market share in India. Currently, Tata Motors holds a domination in the EV car market in India. Kia EV9 was showcased at the Auto Expo earlier this year. The Korean automaker launched the Electric SUV in various markets abroad including its home country. Earlier, the brand announced that it would be launching the Kia EV9 by 2025 in India. However, the recent confirmation states that the Kia will launch three vehicles in the next three years in India which will include two new EV offerings by the brand. 

Kia EV6 made its Indian debut in 2022 and was introduced as the premium electric offering of the brand. Kia seems to be ready to hold a dominant position in the Indian EV market by launching all-new EV offerings. 

Kia EV9 Expected Specs 

Koran carmaker, Kia claims that the upcoming EV9 will provide an impressive driving range of 541 km on a solitary charge. It will be equipped with a 150 kW electric motor allowing it to accelerate from 0-100 kmph in just 9.4 seconds which is quite impressive for an EV vehicle. The EV SUV will also come with a rear-wheel drive option which gets a more capable 160 kW motor. The upcoming Kia EV9 will boast an 800-volt electrical architecture that will charge it at an ultra-fast speed. The automaker claims that EV9 will run 239 km in just 15 minutes of charge. 

The top-spec model of the upcoming SUV, the Kia EV9 GT-Line will get level 3 ADAS which will allow buyers to drive it hands-free on highways using the highway driving pilot feature. The electric SUV car will get 15 sensors to aid ADAS functioning in the car.
