Engine Details

Built to Indian regulations, the 1.5-litre K15B petrol engine in the Suzuki Jimny generates 104 horsepower and 134 Nm of torque. You have the option of a 4-speed automatic gearbox or a 5-speed manual gearbox. The low-range transfer case of the Jimny can drive all four wheels.

Three engine options are available for the Mahindra Thar off-road SUV: a 1.5-litre diesel with 118 horsepower and 300 Nm, a 2.2-litre diesel with 130 horsepower and 300 Nm, and a 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol with 150 horsepower and 320 Nm. There is a choice between rear-wheel drive for the 1.5-liter diesel and the 2-liter turbo-petrol, and four-wheel drive for the larger diesel engine and the turbo-petrol. The only available automatic transmissions are for the 2.2-litre diesel and 2-litre turbo-petrol engines. The 6-speed manual is the basic transmission.

Features onboard

Among the best features of the Jimny are a 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system, smartphone connectivity, automated climate control, cruise control, keyless entry, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and a multi-info display. Safety features for passengers include six airbags, electronic stability control, rear parking sensors and a camera, and ABS with EBD.

Removable roof panels, cruise control, manual air conditioning, steering-mounted controls, a washable inside floor, and a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with support for Android Auto and Apple CarPlay are some of the key features of the Thar.

Price in India

The company has decided to start Jimny’s ex-showroom cost at Rs 12.75 lakh. This is the pricing for the manual Zeta version. In this case, the Zeta Automatic costs Rs 13.94 lakh ex-showroom. The top-tier Alpha variant with an automatic gearbox costs Rs 14.89 lakh ex-showroom, while the manual version costs Rs 13.69 lakh. The single-tone versions of it are priced as follows. Between Rs. 13.85 and Rs. 15.05 lakh (ex-showroom), dual variants are priced.

Starting at Rs 11.25 Lakh, the top model of the Mahindra Thar costs Rs 17.60 Lakh.
