Maruti Suzuki: Maruti Suzuki, the biggest automaker in India, had excellent sales for February 2024. The brand is renowned for its value offers, dependable engines, and lightweight, fuel-efficient automobiles. Maruti Suzuki concluded the sales chapter in grand fashion in February 2024, having sold a total of 1,97,471 units.

Maruti Suzuki sales in February 2024

The nation’s largest automaker by volume, Maruti Suzuki India, has revealed the February 2024 monthly sales figures. Compared to 172,321 vehicles sold in February 2023, the company’s overall sales last month were 197,471 units, an increase of around 15%. In comparison to the 155,114 units sold in the same month the previous year, the company’s domestic sales for the month increased by 9% to 168,544. Conversely, from 17,207 units exported in February 2023 to 28,927 units in February 2024, exports increased by a staggering 68%.

The 5,147 Maruti Suzuki units delivered to other OEMs—currently, just Toyota India—are also included in the total domestic sales for February 2024. The company experienced a 20 per cent year-over-year gain in sales from 4,291 units in February 2023.

Sales Breakup

The S-Presso and Alto, Maruti‘s entry-level vehicles, witnessed a sharp decline in sales of 32%, to 14,782 units. On the other hand, subcompact car sales, which included the Swift, Dzire, Ignis, Baleno, Celerio, and WagonR, decreased by more than 10% overall in February 2024, totalling 71,627 units. With 481 units sold in February 2024, Maruti recorded a YoY loss of 39%, and the company’s only compact sedan, the Ciaz, continues to be sold at a downward rate.

For the utility vehicle market, however, it was an entirely different scenario. 61,234 units were sold overall for models such as the Brezza, Ertiga, Fronx, Grand Vitara, Invicto, Jimny, S-Cross, and XL6. a sharp increase of over 83% over the 33,550 cars sold in February 2023. Even the Eeco, Maruti’s only van, saw a 7% YoY increase in sales, reaching 12,147 units. On the commercial vehicle front, however, Maruti Suzuki’s single Light Commercial Vehicle (LCV), the Super Carry, witnessed a 6% drop in sales in February 2024 at 3,126 units.
