Maruti Suzuki Swift CNG: The much anticipated Swift CNG has been officially launched by Maruti Suzuki India today, with a starting price of ₹8.19 lakh (ex-showroom). With more torque, better fuel economy, and a new variation, the new Maruti Suzuki Swift CNG is a formidable competitor in the CNG market. Following its introduction, Maruti Suzuki’s lineup now includes 14 CNG vehicles.
The Maruti Suzuki Swift CNG comes just four months after the petrol version of the fourth-generation Swift, which was introduced in May 2024. This move aims to meet the growing demand for eco-friendly cars with better fuel economy.
Maruti Suzuki Swift CNG: Power and Performance Boost with New Engine
The Swift CNG is powered by a 1.2-litre Z-series Dual VVT engine. It generates 69.75PS of power and 101.8Nm of torque. Compared to the older Swift CNG, which had 77.5PS and 98.5Nm, the new version focuses on better efficiency. The transmission is the same as before, with a 5-speed manual gearbox.
Swift CNG Mileage and Variants Explained
Maruti Suzuki claims that the new Swift CNG delivers 32.85 km/kg, a 6% improvement over its predecessor, positioning it as India’s most fuel-efficient premium hatchback. The Swift CNG is available in three variants: VXi, VXi (O), and ZXi, priced between ₹8.19 lakh and ₹9.19 lakh (ex-showroom). It is approximately ₹90,000 costlier than its petrol counterpart, variant for variant.
Feature-Packed Swift CNG with Premium Additions
The Swift CNG comes loaded with features. It has a 7-inch Smart Play Pro infotainment system, automatic climate control, and a wireless charger. Other highlights include the Suzuki Connect system, rear AC vents, and 60:40 split rear seats. For safety, the car includes six airbags, electronic stability program (ESP), and hill hold assist.
Maruti Suzuki’s Subscription Plans and Future Goals
Maruti Suzuki offers the Swift CNG under its subscription programme as well. The all-inclusive monthly fee starts from ₹21,628. Initially, the car will be available in Gujarat, timed for the festive season. Maruti expects the CNG variants to contribute more to Swift’s overall sales. The company aims to sell 600,000 CNG units by FY25.
