New Mahindra SUVs with ADAS: The popularity of advanced driver assistance systems, or ADAS, among Mahindra SUV customers is quickly growing. Mahindra isn't specifically stating how many of its more than 1,00,000 XUV700 customers have chosen the system, but the company claims a sizable percentage of them having it. The XUV700's ADAS features include adaptive cruise control, high beam assist, automatic emergency braking, lane keep assist, front collision warning, smart pilot aid, and traffic sign recognition.

To provide greater comfort and safety

Few at Mahindra anticipated that the XUV700's ADAS technologies would bring in so many buyers. The vehicle industry's executive director and CEO, Rajesh Jejurikar, expressed his own amazement at the demand. Customers think ADAS is a crucial consideration when making the buying decision, and "our top-of-the-line XUV model is doing exceptionally well," he says. According to Jejurikar, one of the main reasons Mahindra customers are prepared to spend the additional cost for this technology is because ADAS aims to give the customer greater comfort and safety.

These are probably going to be the XUV300 and XUV400, then the Scorpio N, the Scorpio's upcoming pickup variant. Additionally, Mahindra has made a suggestion that upcoming SUVs will adhere to the SAE's Level 2 Driving Automation standard. The systems need to have lane centering, adaptive cruise control, brake, accelerator, and steering intervention in order to be classified as SAE Level 2. The driver must still keep an eye on things and take action as necessary or as directed.

ADAS is growing in India

ADAS systems are now appearing on popular automobiles and SUVs after first appearing on luxury vehicles like Mercedes and Volvo. The Honda City, Hyundai Verna, MG's Hector, Astor, and ZS, as well as Tata's Harrier and Safari, are just a few of the cheap vehicles featuring ADAS now on the market. Although clients have embraced the technology with enthusiasm, the system's integration in India hasn't been completely flawless.
