Essential Documents to Gather for Smooth RC Transfer

Offline Transfer Process

  1. Visit the RTO: Head to the Regional Transport Office (RTO) where your vehicle is registered.
  2. Submit Documents & Fees: Submit all the documents mentioned above along with the required fees at the RTO counter.
  3. Verification: RTO officials will verify your documents and vehicle details.

Online Transfer Process (Parivahan Portal)

  1. Access Parivahan: Visit the Parivahan portal (https://parivahan.gov.in/).
  2. Vehicle Details: Enter your vehicle’s registration number and click “Proceed.”
  3. Basic Services: Select “Basic Services” and enter the last 5 digits of your chassis number. Click “Validate Regn_no/Chasi_no.”
  4. OTP Verification: Generate and enter the OTP received.
  5. Transfer of Ownership: Select “Transfer of Ownership” and fill in the required details.
  6. Update & Pay Fees: Update your insurance information, review the fee, and proceed to pay. You may need to upload documents and schedule an appointment (if applicable).
  7. Application Sent: Upon completion, a receipt will be generated, and your application will be sent to the RTO for processing.
