Toyota: With the release of the Urban SUV concept late last year, Toyota gave a sneak peek at its next midsize electric SUV. It will be the Japanese automaker’s first electric vehicle (EV) for India and is essentially Toyota’s take on the Maruti eVX. The production version of the Urban SUV concept will like Toyota’s first electric SUV be in Indian showrooms by September or October 2025.
Toyota’s first electric SUV expected details
Based on the 27PL skateboard platform, the Toyota Urban SUV concept will be produced with its twin, the eVX. It will be available with a single or dual motor configuration and two battery options with a range of up to 550 kilometres.
The Urban SUV concept takes styling inspiration from the bZ compact SUV concept. It features flared wheel arches, an LED light bar at the back, and C-shaped LED headlamps with an LED light bar.
Although Toyota hasn’t revealed many interior specifics, we can anticipate a smooth and seamless combination of comfort and technology, matching the benchmarks set by the eVX. Thanks to its electric skateboard frame, the Urban SUV boasts a spacious and adaptable interior that is fully equipped with modern safety technologies and creature comforts.
Dimension details
Toyota’s Urban SUV concept is quite similar to Maruti’s eVX, measuring 4,300mm in length, 1,820mm in width, and 1,620mm in height. In addition, both versions should have the same 2,700mm wheelbase, which guarantees a dependable yet recognisable design.
