Triumph Motorcycles India has expanded its 400 cc lineup with the launch of the Thruxton 400, priced at ₹2.74 lakh (ex-showroom). Coinciding with the launch, the company has also revised the pricing of the Speed 400, now retailing at ₹2,50,551 — an increase of ₹4,177 from its previous price tag of ₹2.46 lakh.
Speed 400 Price Hike Comes Without Mechanical Changes
Despite the price revision, the 2025 Triumph Speed 400 remains unchanged in terms of design and performance. It continues to be available in the same colour palette — Racing Yellow, Pearl Metallic White, Phantom Black, and Racing Red — and retains the adjustable brake and clutch levers.
Under the tank, the Speed 400 houses a 398 cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled engine, producing 39 hp at 8,000 rpm and 37 Nm of torque at 6,500 rpm, mated to a six-speed gearbox with assist and slipper clutch. It continues to compete in the market against rivals such as the Harley Davidson X440, KTM 390 Duke, and others in the entry-level performance segment.
Thruxton 400: Retro Style Meets Modern Performance
The newly launched Thruxton 400 brings classic café racer styling into Triumph’s sub-500cc segment. While it shares the same 398 cc engine as the Speed 400, it has been retuned to deliver 42 hp while maintaining the same 37 Nm torque output.
Visually, the Thruxton 400 distinguishes itself with a semi-fairing, clip-on handlebars with bar-end mirrors, and a more aggressive rider triangle, catering to enthusiasts who prefer a committed, sporty stance and retro-inspired looks.
Fifth Bike on the 400cc Platform
The Thruxton 400 becomes the fifth motorcycle based on Triumph’s 400 cc platform, joining the Speed 400, Speed T4, Scrambler 400 X, and Scrambler 400 XC. With this launch, Triumph continues to diversify its offerings for India’s rapidly growing mid-capacity motorcycle market.
