iPhone lost in the sea, found in a working condition even after a year

iPhone: One of the most favoured aspects of Apple iPhones is their durability. A paddle boarder who found her iPhone in functioning shape after losing it in the water a year ago has given the smartphone another bragging right. According to a report, paddle boarder Clare Atfield lost her iPhone 8+ in August 2021 while out on her board.

Where was it found?

Her Apple iPhone, which just washed up on the beach and was discovered by dog walker Bradley Cotton, has finally been traced. When she misplaced her iPhone, the smartphone was in a water-resistant pouch. According to the story, “The case contained a medical card which had Clare’s mother’s details on so the dog walker was able to track down Clare and return her handset”.

As she describes how she misplaced her iPhone, Atfield said “I started paddleboarding in April 2021 and always kept my phone around my neck. I had been paddleboarding quite far out to sea but I fell off my board. I got back on and kept going — but then realized I had lost my phone. It was quite far out to sea but it was inside one of those phone protection cases so it must have sunk and just stayed there.”

What did the owner have to say?

Nearly a year after losing her device, Atfield says she never expected to find it again. She claimed that when Bradley told her about finding the missing iPhone, she was “shocked.” She comments, “I can’t believe it still works.

According to Atfield, The smartphone’s back cover is totally broken. She noticed it and assumed that water would have seeped through and destroyed the phone. She continued, “I’m stunned more damage wasn’t caused to it, especially how rough the sea can get down there.”
