Nothing Phone (1) shows why it is eagerly awaited, passes durability test with flying colours

Nothing Phone (1): One of the most anticipated smartphones to arrive in recent memory, the Nothing Phone (1) has shown to be well worth the anticipation thanks to its appealing technology and design. The overall aesthetics make it a unique product in the market, despite the apparent minor price increase in India. The primary selling feature of the phone is the Glyph LED light interface on the back panel. The Nothing Phone (1) appears to have a good build quality in addition to its good appearance.

The Nothing Phone (1) has undergone a durability test by well-known YouTuber JerryRigEverything, who is known for his teardown and durability videos. The results reveal that the Nothing Phone is constructed like a tank.

The design of the Nothing Phone (1) is reminiscent of the iPhone 12/13, with squared edges and symmetrical bezels on all four corners. The phone is available in Black and White. The buttons and the entire side frame are constructed from recycled aluminium. Sharp things have the potential to scratch it. The phone is made durable and luxuriously because of this. On the sides, 5G antenna lines with a white accent may be seen. The power button is located on the right edge, and the volume rocker is on the left.

Glass makes up the phone’s front and back. The durability test reveals that the front glass scratches at level 6 and at level 7 with deeper scratches. From glass, this is to be anticipated. With the fire test, the screen was able to withstand without burn marks until 40 seconds and post that, it was able to recover those pixels as well.

The phone’s durability will be put to the actual test. Here, we observe some intriguing outcomes. The phone’s aluminium body prevents it from simply bending or breaking in two, but there is a twist. When bending from the front near the antenna band line, the phone has an odd flex. Although the video doesn’t show it breaking in half, there are some cracking sounds that give that impression.

When attempting to bend from the back side, this cracking noise does not occur. The intrinsic strength of the phone’s gripping mechanism seems to be keeping it from breaking. Fortunately, even if it flexes, the phone doesn’t completely bend. The durability test is passed by the Nothing Phone (1).
