Viral video: Xiaomi unveiled a smartphone with a Leica camera system earlier this year. Following the confirmation of its partnership with Leica a few months ago, Xiaomi 12S ultra is first high-end phone to go on sale. It has a 1-inch camera sensor, the largest on any smartphone to date. Although the smartphone is among the most intriguing gadgets this year, Xiaomi hasn’t yet announced any plans to export it to India.
To test out the Xiaomi 12S Ultra and its camera, the company organised a product briefing last week. Here is a brief unboxing of the Xiaomi 12S Ultra in this Viral video.
Only market for the Xiaomi 12S Ultra will be mainland China
The Xiaomi 12S Ultra will only be available in the mainland Chinese market, according to an earlier statement from Xiaomi. In the upcoming months, Xiaomi may have more products planned with Leica that will serve international markets.
Specifications of Xiaomi 12S Ultra
The 6.73-inch E5 AMOLED screen on the Xiaomi 12S Ultra supports WQHD resolution, up to 120Hz refresh rate, and a maximum brightness of 1,500 nits. The smartphone has a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset and can hold up to 512GB of internal storage and up to 12GB of RAM. The camera on this device, however, is what has everyone so excited.
A massive 1-inch 50.3-megapixel primary sensor, a 48-megapixel ultra-wide-angle lens, and a 48-megapixel periscope lens make up the triple rear camera setup. Leica has been given the task of making numerous adjustments to the camera and its lenses.
