The announcement was highlighted by former bureaucrat and advisor Awanish Kumar Awasthi, who called it a proud moment for the state. Boosting Uttar Pradesh’s Electronics Hub Status
According to Samsung, engineers from its research and development facilities in Bengaluru and Noida played a crucial role in the development of the upcoming Galaxy S26 series. The smartphones will now be produced at the company’s large manufacturing facility in Noida, further strengthening India’s position in the global electronics supply chain.
JB Park, President and CEO of Samsung Southwest Asia, said the contribution of Indian engineers has been significant in designing and developing the Galaxy S26 lineup. He added that manufacturing the flagship series at the Noida plant reflects the company’s growing confidence in India’s manufacturing capabilities.
Industry experts say the move will likely generate more employment opportunities and enhance the region’s reputation as a key centre for high-tech manufacturing. Over the past few years, Noida and the surrounding National Capital Region have attracted major global companies due to improved infrastructure, policy support, and skilled workforce availability.
The decision to manufacture the Galaxy S26 series in Noida also aligns with India’s push to become a global electronics production hub, while reinforcing Uttar Pradesh’s role as a leading destination for investment in the technology and manufacturing sectors.
