Deepinder Goyal: Deepinder Goyal has announced stepping down as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Eternal Limited, the parent company of Blinkit and Zomato. In a post on X, Goyal made the announcement. Goyal remarked that he now wants to concentrate on high-risk experimental ideas outside the constraints of a public company.
Goyal commented that he would like to make a transition to the role of Vice Chairman, with Albinder Dhindsa succeeding him as Group CEO, if that is approved by the shareholders. The resignation of Deepinder Goyal as the Eternal CEO takes effect on February 1, 2026.
Deepinder Goyal-Reasons for Resignation
Goyal cited a pragmatic shift in his focus toward significantly higher-risk exploration and experimentation. He added that this purpose presently does not align with the strategic framework of Eternal or the legal expectations of spearheading an Indian listed company.
DON'T MISS
Deepinder added Eternal required disciplined growth in its primary areas while his new pursuits require singular, personal attention much beyond public company duties.
New Initiatives
It is highly likely that Goyal would now focus entirely on Continue Research, a $25 million personal investment by him that was launched in late 2024. The organization aims to fund global scientists studying aging biology, human longevity and “upstream biological mechanisms” for healthier lifespans.
This scientific collective would be operating independently, emphasizing open-access research into simplifying the otherwise-complicated concept of human biology for interventions that could reshape aging.
The wearable was a prototype device known as Temple that was developed under his Continue Research initiative and Eternal Ltd. The device continuously monitor cerebral blood flow in real-time for tracking down the patterns of brain circulation during routine activities such as stress, rest or work. Temple aims to identify fluctuations that are linked to fatigue, concentration issues, neurological health and aging-related cognitive decline, filling gaps in real-world data beyond lab imaging.
The device supports the “Gravity Ageing Hypothesis” of Goyal and suggests that the efficiency of brain blood supply is reduced by gravity’s lifelong pull, accelerating aging – a theory that is unproven and controversial till this date.
