Gorakhpur Panipat Expressway: A high speed expressway is being built between Panipat and Gorakhpur that will pass through 72 villages in Lakhimpur.
Panipat boasts of more than 4,000 industrial units, including paper, wood-based/furniture, agro-based and textile industries. A large number of Uttar Pradesh labourers work in Haryana. Better connectivity facilitated by the Expressway will help in creating and nurturing new avenues for trade between the two states.
Which Villages Will Benefit?
The Expressway will pass through many villages, including but not limited to Kishun Puri, Pratappur, Sanigwa, Naurangpur, Salliyabad, Atrauli, Parsehri Khurd and Nainapara. Others include Gauriya, Kotkherwa, Hasanapur Oil, Saraiya, Penyora, Pipariya Andu, Guthna Buzurg, Belwa and Korhaiya.
The list of other villages include Sarai Suraj, Moodadhamu, Teekar, Dhusru, Dimhaura, Mahmadabad, Musepur Khurd and several other villages of the Sadar tehsil in Lakhimpur Kheri.
Progress On The Gorakhpur Panipat Expressway
The Expressway will be about 750 kilometers long. Several villagers have confirmed that survey measurements were taken on their lands. In the expressway route, the highest count of villages (37) belongs to the Sadar tehsil. The expressway will also make a passage via 19 villages of Gola Gokaran Nath tehsil and 16 villages of Mohammadi tehsil.
Union Minister Jitin Prasada sent his congratulation message to the people of Pilibhit, Lakhimpur and Sitapur via social media, terming the expressway as a wonderful development gift. Panchayati Raj Committee Chairman and Mohammadi MLA Lokendra Pratap Singh remarked the inclusion of the district in the route of the Expressway is a matter of great pride.
