Indian Railways: A record number of more than 1,410 special trains on the occasion of Holi have been announced by Indian Railways. The count is likely to increase to around 1,500 services during the month of March.

Indian Railways-Why An Increase In The Count Of Special Trains?
Indian Railways would introduce Holi special trains to manage the anticipated increase in passenger demand. The East Central Railway (ECR) would operate the highest count of Holi special trains (285 trains) followed by Western Railway (231 trains), Central Railway (208 trains), Northern Railway (108 trains) and South Central Railways (160 trains).
The North Central Railway (66 trains), East Coast Railway and North Eastern Railway (62 trains each) and North Western Railway (71 trains) would also work to delight travellers who visit their hometowns during the festival. Furthermore, West Central Railway (43 trains), Southern Railway (39 trains) and South Western Railways (47 trains) would also be working to ensure everyone travels with a confirmed ticket.
