Elon Musk, the owner of company X, has announced that his much-discussed showdown with the CEO of Meta (formerly known as Facebook), Mark Zuckerberg, will be broadcast live on the microblogging platform, formerly named Twitter. Last month, these prominent figures in the tech industry ignited a frenzy by agreeing to a challenge for a cage fight against each other.
In a tweet, Musk revealed, “The Zuck v Musk fight will be available for live streaming on X.” He also declared that all proceeds from this spectacle will be directed toward a charitable cause benefiting veterans.
Recently, Musk shared on X that he’s been devoting his days to lifting weights in preparation for the upcoming match. He humorously mentioned bringing weights to work due to time constraints.
In response to a user’s question on X about the purpose of the fight, Musk replied, “It’s a refined version of conflict. Men have a natural inclination toward competition.”
The ongoing rivalry between Musk, aged 51, and Zuckerberg, aged 39, has been characterized by differing perspectives on a wide range of topics, spanning from politics to artificial intelligence.
The rivalry escalated when Meta unveiled a new app called Threads, featuring similarities to Twitter. Seizing the opportunity, Musk playfully informed his Twitter followers of his willingness to engage in a cage fight with Zuckerberg.
Zuckerberg, who has embraced the trend of tech leaders showcasing physical fitness and martial arts skills online, responded on his Instagram Stories with a screenshot of Musk’s message and a succinct challenge: “Provide me the location.”
The online exchange has generated amusement on social media platforms, triggering an abundance of predictions about the potential outcome of the fight, with Zuckerberg emerging as the clear favorite.
Technology journalist Taylor Lorenz expressed her hopes with a tweet: “May this actually occur, please.”
Podcaster Bennett Tomlin humorously remarked, “The ultimate Musk-Zuckerberg cage match is one where both participants enter and none exit.”
