The Nifty fell below 19,750 as benchmark indices finished lower for the third straight session.The Nifty is down 159.10 points at 19,742.30, and the Sensex was down 570.60 points at 66,230.24. Gains were exceeded by losses as 2,254 shares fell, 1,288 rose, and 127 remained unchanged.

RBI acquires 9.5% stakes; BLS International under pressure
Following the Reserve Bank of India’s clearance on September 21 for the acquisition of 9.5 percent stakes in DCB Bank and Karur Vyas Bank, respectively, HDFC AMC has also received RBI approval for the acquisition of a comparable holding in City Union Bank. After Indian visa services in Canada were halted with immediate effect and until further notice on September 21, shares of BLS International came under pressure. The company stated that the shutdown would have a little effect because Canadian visa insurance only accounted for 2% of its overall annual revenue.
