Due to heavy rains in Himachal Pradesh since Friday, railway bridges are collapsing, water entering houses and people are losing their lives. At the same time, financial loss is also happening. In view of this, Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur has announced compensation to the families of those who died due to floods. Talking to news agency NAI, Chief Minister Jairam Thakur said, "Due to heavy rains in Himachal Pradesh since yesterday, there has been loss of life and property. So far 19 people have died. 6 people are missing. The families of the deceased will be given compensation by the government."
Also, the traffic due to heavy rains has been affected. Regarding this also, CM Jai Ram Thakur directed the district administration to fix the road soon so that people do not face any problem.
Today on Saturday, the bridge built on the Chakki river in Kangra district collapsed. Traffic has come to a halt due to the collapse of the bridge. Meanwhile, the Indian Meteorological Department said that today there may be heavy rains in Kangra, Chamba, Bilaspur, Sirmaur and Mandi districts.
In view of the rains in Mandi, government and private schools will remain closed till August 20. It was cloudy here only on Friday. On behalf of the Himachal government, people have been instructed not to go near the river. At the same time, the Department of State Disaster Management Authority has given a warning of landslides.
