5.4 million Twitter users’ data leaked online

After WhatsApp, hackers have launched a major attack on Twitter. According to the information received, the data of at least 5.4 million that is 54 lakh Twitter users has been stolen and leaked online on a hacker forum. In addition to the 5.4 million records for online sales, data was collected from an additional 1.4 million Twitter profiles using a separate Twitter application programming interface (API), which have been shared privately among certain individuals. As Bleeping Computer reports, the massive amount of data scraped includes public information as well as private phone numbers and email addresses that are not public. Security expert Chad Loader first reported the news on Twitter and was soon suspended. Musk or Twitter have yet to comment on the report.

Evidence of massive data breach

Lauder posted on Twitter, “I recently received evidence of a massive data breach affecting millions of Twitter accounts in the EU and USI contacted one of the affected accounts and they have confirmed that the data breached is accurate. The data was stolen in January this year by hacking the Twitter API. The report said that this data was collected in December 2021 using the Twitter API as described in the HackerOne bug bounty program. Most of the data includes public information such as Twitter ID, name, login name, location, and verified status. This also includes personal information such as phone numbers and email addresses.

The biggest hacking happened in the history of WhatsApp

Recently, the biggest hacking case in the history of WhatsApp came to light. According to the report, there is news of data theft in 84 countries of the world. These countries include America, Britain, Egypt, Italy, Saudi Arabia and India. The data of about 50 crore WhatsApp users of these countries has been leaked. The largest number of data theft is from American users, the data of 32 million users here has been leaked. At the same time, data of 45 million users of Egypt, 35 million of Italy, 29 million of Saudi Arabia, 20 million of France, 20 million of Turkey, 10 million of Russia, 11 million of UK WhatsApp users have been stolen.
