Union Budget

In his fresh attack against the Centre, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has slammed the Union Budget for the financial year 2021-2022, saying it was another “assault” on farmers who have already been disappointed with government’s three agriculture related laws.

The Congress leader said that now farmers will have to spend more on Petrol/Diesel without being provided with any financial assistance from the government.

“In Modi’s crony-centric budget, farmers will have to pay more for petrol-diesel and no financial assistance will be given to them. After being crushed by the three anti-agriculture laws, another assault on the country’s ‘annadaatas’,” Mr Gandhi said in a tweet in Hindi.

The former Congress chief had also attacked the Modi government earlier as he outlined no support for soldiers in the budget has been provided.

“Modi’s crony centric budget means — Jawans facing Chinese aggression in extreme conditions will get no support. India’s defenders betrayed,” he said in a tweet.

Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman had presented the budget on Monday in the Lok Sabha. In his early reaction to budget, Gandhi has claimed that the Government aims to hand over country’s assets to crony capitalists.

“Forget putting cash in the hands of people, Modi Govt plans to handover India’s assets to his crony capitalist friends,” he had tweeted.
