Atiq Ahmad: In response to the gangster Atiq Ahmed's death while being held in captivity, Al-Qaeda in the Indian Subcontinent (AQIS) has threatened attacks on India. The terrorist organisation pledged retaliation and referred to Atiq and his brother Ashraf as "martyrs" in their Eid greeting. Al-Qaeda also pledged to "liberate Muslims" in its 7-page magazine, which was published by As-Sahab, the terrorist organization's propaganda media wing.

Atiq Ahmed, a gangster-turned-politician, and his brother Ashraf were being escorted by police to a medical college for a checkup when three men posing as journalists opened fire and killed them at point blank range.

Asaduddin Owaisi Comments on Atiq Ahmad Murder
When the brothers were killed about 10 p.m. in front of media crews, they were both in jail in Prayagraj and were wearing handcuffs. Atiq Ahmed and his brother Ashraf were killed, and the AQIS was outraged and honoured them as "martyrs" for their actions. In addition, Asaduddin Owaisi, the president of AIMIM, claimed on Friday that those responsible for the murders of gangster-turned-politician Atiq Ahmed and his brother in UP were acting in a similar manner to Nathuram Godse, who killed Mahatma Gandhi, and labelled them "terrorists" who were a member of a terror module.
