Pahalgam: Amarnath Yatra has been stopped from both Baltal and Pahalgam places due to bad weather (Amarnath Yatra 2022). Despite this, the enthusiasm of the devotees who participated in this yatra has not diminished. At the same time, the pilgrims have condemned Mehbooba Mufti's political statement on the Amarnath Yatra, saying that it is a matter of faith that brings her on the Yatra and not for any political purpose.
In fact, PDP president Mehbooba Mufti had on Wednesday accused the central government of making Amarnath Yatra a "political issue" by allowing more devotees than the number recommended by a committee. She had also said that the environmental conditions do not allow more than five thousand pilgrims to visit the holy cave in Amarnath in a day.
Mehbooba Mufti had further said that, thousands of people are being sent to the holy cave of Amarnath in a day, due to which the cloudburst incident happened. The PDP chief also alleged that the administration has hidden the actual number of people who died in the cloudburst incident and we do not know why they are doing this.
Due to bad weather, Amarnath Yatra has been banned from both Baltal and Pahalgam places. At the same time, according to the administration, the journey will be halted till further notice.
