Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Anurag Dhanda has criticised the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) following a social media post attributed to Rajasthan BJP president Madan Rathore, which claimed that India would side with Pakistan if a war broke out between the United States and Pakistan.

In a post on X, Dhanda used the reported remark to attack Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP leaders, accusing them of being sympathetic towards Pakistan. His comments also referred to Modi’s past visits to Pakistan, the invitation extended to Pakistan’s intelligence agency ISI to visit India, and the ceasefire with Pakistan.

Anurag Dhanda Questions BJP’s Position on Pakistan

Dhanda described BJP leaders as “Pakistan lovers” and used the phrase to criticise what he portrayed as inconsistencies in the party’s position on Pakistan.

His post referred to Modi’s visit to Pakistan, the visit by an ISI team to India in 2016 to investigate the Pathankot airbase attack, and the ceasefire announced during the India-Pakistan military confrontation in May 2025.

Dhanda’s remarks were political criticism, and his post did not provide further details or evidence to support the accusations.

Controversy Over Madan Rathore’s Reported Statement

The controversy follows a post shared by Romita Tiwari on X, which attributed the statement, “If there is a war between America and Pakistan, we are with Pakistan,” to Rajasthan BJP president Madan Rathore.

The reported remark drew attention to the BJP’s position on Pakistan and its foreign policy messaging. However, the context of the statement and whether Rathore made it exactly as quoted would need to be established independently.

Pakistan and Foreign Policy Become Political Flashpoints

India-Pakistan relations, cross-border security and ceasefire decisions have frequently featured in political exchanges between the BJP and opposition parties. Leaders from different parties have criticised one another over their approaches to national security and diplomacy.

Dhanda’s post adds to that political debate, using the reported remark attributed to Rathore to question the BJP’s position. The posts cited here do not establish whether Rathore or the BJP has issued a response to Dhanda’s allegations.
